The All About Series has everything from cities, provinces, biographies, etc. to symbols of Canada. Super easy but very readable. And a second vote for this series All about series - Provinces
2 books about becoming Canadian citizens; From Far and Wide by JO Bannatyne-Cugnet The Long Road by Luis Garay.
A great new series from Linda Bailey about time travel to Ancient Egypt, The Middle Ages, Ancient Greece and Vikings. These books have a cartoon type format for the story, but then have added factual information at the bottom of each page.

Also I came across something that came in mail June 2003. Called Canada Studies Weekly curriculum based newspaper (they sent free sample all about Canada quizzes, articles etc. on Canada and history) cost is $24.95 not sure if they still have this offer.
